Golden Turmeric Milk with a twist

Kathleen O’Keeffe is an energy healer, kind soul and a rockin girlfriend who sent me a link to this recipe in response to posting this photo on facebook “Turmeric anyone?”IMG_2223

I made a few changes – added more turmeric, substituted the coconut water for filtered water and left out the honey.
IMG_2259This is the result of the unstrained brew:IMG_2260 And this is the result of taking to the mix with my stick blender and keeping all of the goodness from the turmeric and ginger in the brew.IMG_2261The results? Beyond delicious! My yoga teacher was so impressed with the pics on #instagram she asked for the recipe. So Voila dear Anne – here it is! Oh, and the quantities I made ensured I had enough to reheat and enjoy as a night cap, plus a cold smoothie the next day.

    Beautiful color! Did you use coconut milk? I actually was given a similar recipe many years ago to overcome a flu! But it was with cow’s milk….

      Yes I used coconut milk Anne – and used filtered water instead of coconut water. I’ve played with a few recipes but this one would have to be my favourite. In fact I made turmeric paste a few years ago no I come to think of it! Must dig out that recipe xx
